Your email will continue to be hosted at your current location (your current IP). Your hostname should stay as ‘@yourname.com’ . If something changes and an IP change occurs, there could be a few hours delay before it updates on our end. We don’t expect any issues during transition and we’ll update this post if anything comes up after November 3rd however we recommend adding @centurylinkmail.net as an alternate or secondary email address if you have one.
Restrictions for keeping your email address after cancellation:
If your service was bundled with another CenturyLink product (For example: Internet and TV) You may have to pay an early termination fee , not a reinstatement fee . A bundle is considered two services that share the same bill. Bundling can be different depending on what state you are in, please call us at 1-800-950-5111 for details on bundles in your area. Although we don’t require contracts, there is no guarantee that we will stop processing payments since some of our customers do have contracts for bundling. After cancelling this service, it’s highly likely that additional charges will begin to appear on your bill for the TV/Internet bundle, at which point you should contact billing to have those charges removed. Contact us if this happens! It’s best if you add an alternate email address on our website as a backup in case your domain is dropped from the internet as a result of cancellation.
After signing up with CenturyLink you were given an IP range (192.x.x). Your domain name was provided by another company or through a 3rd party that is not affiliated with CenturyLink and may or may not continue to provide service after termination of service from us. If this is the case, it will be necessary to pay an additional fee if there are no other active services with us at your location and we cannot guarantee support from other providers.
If you cancel your CENTURYLINK INTERNET SERVICE, your centurylink email will be shut down as well.
