Can I Use My Apple Credit Card Anywhere?
Apple Card can be used virtually from within the Wallet app available on Apple devices or can be used physically where contactless payment is not allowed. Apple’s physical card which is the Titanium Apple card does not show the card number in front but has a virtual 16-digit card number( different from the virtual card number and that of the Apple Pay card number) that can be used whenever Apple Pay does not work. It does not show the expiry date and CVV and hence is the safest even if someone steals it. But you can still find all this information about the card in the Wallet app. It has magstripe on the back like the other credit cards. Apple Cards can be used at any place such as restaurants, malls, and gas stations if you see the symbol of Apple Pay. You can also make payment with a titanium Apple Card if Apple Pay is not available somewhere. Since Apple has partnered with Mastercard, so physical Apple Card is applicable wherever Mastercard is accepted.
Steps to add Apple Card on iPhone:
Firstly, update to the latest version of iOS then open the Wallet App present default in the iPhone and select plus sign present inside a small black circle.
Select apply for Apple Card and enter the asked information, then click agree to the terms and conditions to submit your application.
Accept the offered credit limit and APR, after selecting the offer, Apple Card is added to your wallet. You can set Apple Card as your default card for Apple Pay transactions. This can be done by going to the settings, tapping the ‘Wallet & Apple’ Pay option, then selecting ‘Default Card’ and selecting your Apple Card.
After adding the Apple Card, you can also request the titanium Apple card by the following simple steps:
Open the Wallet app and select Apple Card. Tap on the button having three small dots inside a circle, scroll down to titanium Apple Card and tap request. Follow the instructions on the screen and a notification will get sent to your iPhone when your card ships.
Titanium Apple Card is free of cost and can be replaced without any charges applied.
To make an online or in-store purchase with Apple Card where Apple Pay is available:
When you select the product to buy online, during checkout, click on the Apple Pay symbol and a screen will appear in front of you where all the information is provided including shipping address, contact details. After confirming all the information, double click the right side button of your iPhone and confirm the Face ID ( use touch ID or password in older iPhones), this will complete your transaction.All the above steps are to be applied when you buy the product from the store, only in the end after confirming your Face ID, put your phone near the card reader of the store and the transaction will get completed.
To use Apple Card where Apple Pay is not available?
In places, where Apple Pay is not available, you can still make a payment by using your physical titanium Apple Card, if Mastercard is accepted there.
Steps to add a bank account to your Apple Card:
Just like other credit cards, Apple Card also requires a bank account to make payments. While adding a bank account, you will be asked to add the regularly used card ( that are used for other payments) or add a new bank account for Apple Card.
To add a new bank account, the following are the steps:
Open the Wallet app and click on the Apple Card option. Click the ellipsis button( the three dots inside the black circle) on the top right corner. Then you have to go down and select the Bank Accounts option. Next, tap on the ‘Add a Bank Account’ option then add an account number and routing number and you are all set to make payments.
