You cannot restore a WhatsApp backup from Google Drive if you delete it from your phone. You won’t be prompted to restore a backup on your new device if you erase the file from Google Drive.
Tap on the WhatsApp folder, then the Database folder. Select all database files from the Database folder. Simply remove everything after that. On your Android Phone, the Whatsapp backup of your conversations will be removed permanently this way.
You can remove them without causing any issues. The problem is that deleting these will not provide you with many benefits. WhatsApp will restore them day after day until they are all restored. You can’t alter WhatsApp’s backup strategy.
On your Android mobile device or tablet, open the Google Drive app. Tap Files at the bottom right. Next to the file, you wish to remove, tap More. Remove it by selecting Remove from the drop-down menu.
Where is WhatsApp’s backup stored? Local backups are kept as encrypted database files in your phone’s device storage, under WhatsApp > Databases.
