Go to Reddit and log in. From the drop-down menu next to your user icon, select ‘User Settings.’ Scroll down the page and click on ‘Deactivate Account.’ Confirm your account deactivation by retyping your login information and providing an explanation if you want one.
Click Deactivate Account in the drop-down menu. Click Deactivate Account from your Account Settings page. Select Deactivate My Account from the drop-down menu at the top of your browser window, then follow through with those steps.
After you deactivate your account, it will be removed from Reddit and our staff won’t be able to restore it for you. So, before deactivating your account, make sure you’re 100% sure.
Once an account is deleted, it can never be restored. Usernames, once assigned, cannot be reused by anybody. So please ensure that you really wish to delete your Reddit account because you will not have the option to recover it.
To remove your Reddit history, go to your profile’s “Overview” section and delete each post one by one. Alternatively, you may use the “Nuke Reddit History” add-on for Google Chrome to completely erase your Reddit history at once.
