“Now, just imagine how it would feel if such thing happens but worse than that, you actually deleted it. Yep! I mean permanently erased everything in your Snapchat account right from its server… I can’t help but face palm myself because this actually happened to me,” she said. “So what if I deleted my Snapchat account and can’t get it back? Is there any way for me to retrieve a deleted Snapchat account? One thing is for sure, you just can’t leave anything behind in the digital world because everything can be retrieved.”

“I recently made an article on how to save photos that have been sent to you. At first, I didn’t really think about including Snapchat on the list of apps where one could recover their lost Snaps—because you know, no one really deletes their Snapchat accounts right?” she said. “But then again, as much as people say they never delete their accounts… deleting your social media page is like opening Pandora’s box.”

“But before we start with the tips on how to get your Snapchat back, I want to say that this is merely a guide and not an iron-clad guarantee. The good thing, however, is that there are some workarounds you can do just in case you accidentally delete your Snapchat account or if it’s been hacked by someone else. It is possible to retrieve most of the data from your Snapchat account but these methods may differ depending on the reasons why you need to do so.”

“So let us begin! In order for me to help you with recovering deleted Snaps from Snapchat, first I need to ask…why did you delete your Snapchats?”

“Maybe because someone sent you something inappropriate and disrespectful? Maybe because someone tried blackmailing you and you want to get all your Snaps with him or her back? Maybe because you’re not happy with the way Snapchat has set up its filters and selfies don’t look as good as they used to? Or maybe because it’s a new year and you just feel like starting fresh?”

“All of these are valid reasons why people delete their accounts and data, so if this happens to you then no worries! I’ll show you how to retrieve deleted conversations on Snapchat!” she explained. “But before we start, let me share some tips that could help in case something goes wrong.”

“First, make sure that everything has been backed up… If anything does happen, then at least there will be another option available. Trust me, I have been there before and it’s not pretty! I had to resort to nothing but prayers or cheating—which is why I am always backing up my data.”

“So what happens when you try to recover deleted Snaps from Snapchat? Well, the first thing that would happen, of course, is that you get locked out. Yup! They lock your account for good only if contact has not been made with them within 24 hours and they have deemed that it was a malicious attempt,” she said. “The second thing will be an error message saying ‘Error: Account Disabled’, which is understandable because they don’t want hackers coming back and doing their dirty deed again.”

“But most importantly… If you have deleted your Snapchat account and want to get it back, then make sure to do so within 24 hours. As for me, I usually send a message directly through their customer service and let them know about my situation but there are other ways if you’re not a big fan of talking into a machine.”

“If you don’t feel like going through the trouble with calling up tech support just to tell them that your account was accidentally deleted, then there’s always contacting them via email or chatting online,” she said. “Don’t worry! It is definitely worth it because once they’ve seen how much you love using their app and how loyal you are, all they’ll care about will be to help bring back what used to be yours.”

“But what if you have deleted your Snapchat account and can’t get it back because you don’t know the reason why? You may have to do some digging around in order to find out for sure,” she explained. “This could be especially challenging if there are no Snapchat messages, pictures or videos that were sent before hand but there is one way to tell whether an account was hacked or not.”

“If someone else has been using your account, then their name will show up at the top of your friends list with a green number beside it. (They’ll also appear in the Recent Activity too.) A green number means that they recently used my account; however, red indicates that they used my account very long ago.
